Studio Crotches

I had an idea to do a body of work dealing with people's crotches lit like this top picture here. While I feel like the banana series has some artistic integrity I think this is just me being a child. I'm okay with that.

Girls Eating Bananas

I had this banana idea last semester when I was working on my fake fashion stuff. But it never really panned out so I gave it another go here. I'm not entirely happy with them but hopefully people find them amusing. Essentially the idea is to take pictures of people eating bananas without any sexual connotations surrounding them. Just people eating bananas. I'm sure there is someone out there who could make this idea really abstract and arty but I don't really think I want to. I kind of like the deadpan, mundane nature of them.

Jumping for Amit

Amit and I posed for each other for a studioish assignment.

I shot his head

He shot me jumping like a buffoon.

Puerto Rico

Thanks for stuffing this little fellow into my suitcase, sister.

Sacre Couer

This is the inside of Sacre Coeur. Technically you aren't supposed to take pictures in there because it is disturbing to those praying inside. Oddly, what isn't taken into account as disturbing is the loud clink of change being dropped into donation boxes and containers housing the payment of candles to burn. I find it very strange that people actually pay ten euros to light a candle and then snub the beggars that sit by the exit with hands outstretched.

I also find it a bit tacky that they have those coin making machine things in a church to begin with.

Film

I've shot three rolls of film since I got here in an attempt to do some more of this kind of thing. Not sure I got any winners that fit in with the other two but I like some of them so I'm going to keep shooting.

The film scanners they have at Spéos are really old and really slow so I don't think I'm going to bother to do any sort of decent high resolution scans while I'm here. These are all pretty small so I didn't bother to do any corrections to them in photoshop even though they desperately need some tweaking.

Eggs

In an attempt to get rid of this kind of nasty sausage that I bought a while ago (its really fatty and I don't like to have to chew my food that long) I have begun to throw it in eggs whenever I take the time to scramble them. It is slightly more bearable to eat when it sizzles some off its fat into the surrounding butter and eggness.

Palestinian Protest Continued

Amit met me there. After failing to talk our way into a theater for a high vantage point we settled on climbing on top of some electrical box on the street. It sorta sagged when you stood in the middle but we thankfully didn't die.

Instead of police the French have robocops. I didn't know either. They also like to poke you with super cool and very threatening batons when you take pictures of them.

This guy has nothing to do with anything but I just think he is funny. He is the exact kind of psuedo-Woody Nelson looking person I did not expect to find here.

Palestinian Protest

There was a parade very close to my apartment at Place de la Republiqué so I took some pictures for my photojournalism class.
