Hey guys...

I got some Frosties
I went out and photographed my neighborhood without getting too lost yesterday. I'm not over joyed with any of them. I'm still kind of sheepish about bringing the camera up to my face and photographing people. In case someone approaches me about it I won't really know how to say anything to them... so I'll stick to shooting dogs and from the hip for now.

This dog was lost as lost as I am.
He seemed to be at home. He kept peeing on things.
I envy his freedom and the fact that he doesn't have to learn the local language.

In France, they have wood grain mannequins.
I don't get it.

Things in my Apartment

My apartment has stylish walls

Good toilet

The seat may unexpectedly slide out while leaning over to wipe, though.

Hi

So I rode a plane for 8 hours to get to Paris. On that plane I was sitting next to a man that was traveling to Lebanon and a lady that I think was British. The man was nice and we talked for a bit. The lady would randomly begin quietly crying while reading her romance novel. Not really knowing how to handle such situations, I considered offering her gum but decided against it. I wouldn't expect weeping people on plane rides to be craving gum. During the rest of the flight I watched (500) Days of Summer and tried sleeping. I think I got a total of 1 1/2 hours of sleep as the awful human that was sitting in front of me constantly adjusted her seat, which pressed into my rather long legs. Not comfy. After I got off the plane, I was hit with some fairly intense humidity, not something I expected out of France. I got my passport stamped and retrieved my luggage.

I left the airport and found Lionel, who should be explained. Lionel works for a company called Belfor which is based in America but is also in France. I don't know what it is that Belfor does but they deal with the fire department in Eastpointe and therefore know my father. And somehow through that connection this Lionel fellow offered to help with my apartment arrangements and pick me up at the airport. So yeah, I left the airport and found Lionel. We drove through Paris. He explained the Boulevard Péripherique to me, which is a road that encircles the entire city of Paris and tried to get me to pronounce it correctly, which I'm sure I failed at. He also taught me the pronounciation of Place de le République, which is a big plaza near my apartment with a huge statue in the middle. On the drive to my apartment I saw about 10 people carrying gigantic baguettes. Its ridiculous. Most people are superbly dressed, smoke, and are wandering about carrying baguettes. They are exactly as I expected they would be.

I really haven't done a whole lot so far. But I took some fairly meh pictures yesterday so I'm going to post some of those now.
